About us

The Learning and Technology group coordinates and leads Systemwide efforts to expand digital assets and uncover new strategies that will maximize the impact of technology-enhanced instruction across North Carolina.

Learning and Technology leverages the vast reserves of creativity and experience from across the UNC System. Through collaborative activities and events, the office helps faculty and staff discover new and innovative models of instruction as well disseminates best practices.

Faculty Learning Communities

A Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is a form of professional development that brings together cross-disciplinary groups of professors, librarians, and instructional professionals to engage over a period of time in an active and collaborative program focused on building a sense of community and enhancing teaching and learning.

The following FLC will run for the 2024-2025 academic year:

  • Generative AI in Teaching and Learning

Monthly Webinar Series

Every 3rd Friday of the month, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The monthly Learning and Technology webinar series features faculty, librarians, and learning professionals from around the UNC system. Presenters share innovative pedagogical approaches, best practices using learning technologies, and valuable digital resources. This program provides an opportunity to engage with colleagues across the system and foster meaningful conversations around timely topics.

Quality Matters

The UNC System Quality Matters Council represents all UNC System institutions that utilize the national Quality Matters rubric. The council focuses on providing helpful resources to our institutions, as well as efficient and affordable ways of conducting online course reviews.

Learning and Technology Symposium

Planning is underway for the 2025 UNC System Learning and Technology Symposium that will showcase innovative and effective practices across the system. Faculty, librarians, staff, and graduate students across the system will have a valuable opportunity to connect face-to-face and online to learn from one another, connect, and network. Volunteers for the planning committee are needed!
