The Office of Leadership and Talent Management helps to steer the administrative functions and talent strategies for executive leadership within the UNC System. The office enhances leadership and talent management through strategic and intentional recruitment and retention efforts, succession planning, professional development programs, and effective administrative oversight. The office also provides training and collaborative opportunities for talent acquisition teams at each constituent institution.

The office oversees key Systemwide leadership and talent initiatives, including Executive Search Services, which helps institutions recruit talented leaders to the UNC System; and the Executive Leadership Institute, which helps our institutions retain and develop their most talented employees for future leadership roles within the UNC System.

Executive Leadership Institute

The UNC Executive Leadership Institute prepares and develops future leaders identified within the UNC System. Broadly, the program’s purpose is to increase the ability of talented employees to move into Systemwide senior leadership positions.

Executive SEARCH SERVICES

The UNC System Office offers executive search services to UNC System institutions and affiliates. Since our creation in 2020, our goal has remained the same: to source, identify, and present qualified candidates to our campus partners, providing excellent service with internal insights and integrity to the UNC System.
