Erosion Control, Site Utilities (disconnects), Building
Demolition, and Lead and Asbestos Abatement for the Plemmons
Student Union Addition and Living Learning Center project.
Bid dates for these packages are anticipated to occur in
later May/early June 2010. Balfour Beatty Construction has
been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for the
project and will receive bids from and contract directly
with principal trade contractors for execution of the work.
Please note that this advertisement is for subcontractor
prequalification only, not for receiving bids. All
prequalified bidders will be notified of the bid date as it
is established.
Subcontractor Opportunity Session:
Balfour Beatty Construction is sponsoring an HUB
Outreach/Information Session to discuss construction of the
ASU Center for Student Leadership Complex. This event is
open to all interested contractors.
This session is to measure subcontractor interest as we
configure Bid Packages and Second Tier Subcontracting
Strategy. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 7th,
2010 at 263 Locust Street Appalachian State University
(Plemmons Student Union, Watauga River Room) Boone, NC
28608; from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm.
Balfour Beatty Construction highly recommends that all
interested first tier and lower tier subcontractors
participate in this meeting. Subcontractor attendance will
be considered towards HUB good faith efforts.
