Opportunities to Do Business with the Universities

Frank L. Blum Construction and TA Loving (BLUM-LOVING), a joint venture has been selected as the Construction Manager @ Risk by the University of North Carolina and the UNC Medical Center and is seeking to pre-qualify construction trade and specialty contractors to submit bid for furnishing labor, materials, equipment and tools for Package #1 of the UNC S-1 Parking Deck and Central Generator Plant/Electrical Modernization project in Chapel Hill, NC. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed UNC S-1 Parking Deck is being planned in conjunction with a new Central Generator Plant and Electrical Modernization project for the UNC Medical Center (see SCO project #18-19904-01A). The combined project will be located on the existing UNC S-1 surface parking lot and is anticipated that the deck will provide a minimum of 450 parking spaces. The UNCMC CGP/Electrical Modernization project has been undertaken to provide new emergency power supply system, appropriately sized to serve the full electrical requirements for UNC Hospitals. This system will include a new Central Generator Plant (CGP), fuel storage facility, underground electrical distribution to main electrical rooms and renovation of existing electrical rooms within the Hospital to meet new code requirements. At this time we are seeking prequalification's for Package #1 -structural demolition & abatement, site electrical work, main plant equipment, site work, early concrete work and site utilities. Loving/Blum Construction has a long-standing commitment to maximize minority and other HUB participation on all of our projects, and we recognize the importance the University of North Carolina places on minority and HUB participation for all of their projects.
