The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is soliciting qualification submittals from firms interested in providing design services for the new Translational Research Building (TRB). The building will provide approximately 170,000 square feet of Vivaria and Research Laboratory program areas. Through consolidation of related UNC School of Medicine and Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) program elements into a single facility, this new building will address both research program growth as well as deferred maintenance issues within current facilities across campus. The technological improvements and convergent Vivaria programs within this new facility will further UNC's competition with top biomedical academic research institutions across the country. Current project authorization is for advance planning only. The selected firm may be retained through full design and construction administration at the university's option. Please contact the Project Manager for for the full project brief.
