Project Description | One-Two Sentences A review of the broad programs/needs for proposed Health and
Wellness and Science Buildings to determine most cost
effective footprints (and number of stories) for each based
upon program functions and cost efficiency. This information
will be used to determine the potential for siting two
buildings in the location adjacent to the Student Union.
Study to include:
o Overall campus program implications to the specific siting
of a Science Building and/or a Health/Wellness Facility
referencing the campus master plan, the Health/Wellness
Center consultant's report, and in consultation with
university administrators, including the Chancellor's
office.
o An analysis of cost implications associated with
construction related to low/mid/high-rise buildings; the
heights of the buildings and the aesthetic implications when
considering the topography and adjacent buildings.
o Campus standards for siting the buildings (setback, etc.)
shall be addressed.
o Campus circulation (vehicular, pedestrian, and service)
and adjacency issues resultant from either having one or two
buildings at that location.
o Parking implications in adding an academic building for
the sciences to that site while removing lot 19; and a
review of potential parking needs in that sector (including
a review of the potential need for enlarging the Student
Union Deck). It is assumed that those using a
Health/Wellness Facility would primarily walk, use the
campus shuttle, or use light rail.
o Food service and individual building support requirements
(accommodating one or both within the site).
o A utilities assessment of the sector to include the
Student Union Regional Utility Plant (RUP) including
existing capacity and potential expansion capacity to
support either one building or two buildings on the site. | |||||
