Western Carolina University is soliciting qualifications for design services for HBS Nature Center Structural Repairs located in Highlands, NC. The Highlands Biological Station Nature Center is two-story, 80+ year old building of approximately 4,565 square feet. The building hosts a museum, offices, storage, mechanical room, and small laboratory space. It is comprised of a wood timber structure with older windows. Some structural timber is showing signs of deterioration and certain windows are allowing water intrusion. The project will consist of repair of structural timber damage and address any water infiltration. Current project authorization is an initial phase of work. The selected firm may be retained for additional phases funded within the next 18-24 months, should funding become available Proposing firms must submit ONE (1) copy of the Letter of Interest and ONE (1) copy of the Standard Form SF330 and ONE (1) digital copy of each. The Letter of Interest should not exceed TEN (10) single-sided pages or FIVE (5) double-sided pages plus the SF330. E-mail and Fax submittals will not be accepted. .
