Opportunities to Do Business with the Universities

North Carolina State University is seeking qualification statements from general contractors for renovations to the Facilities Operations Support Building located at 1528 Blue Ridge Road on NC State's Centennial Biomedical Campus. This project consists of the renovation of a 14,577 gsf building for shop space, offices, and materials storage, as well as exterior site development which will include storage buildings for vehicles and equipment; bulk storage bins, and hazmat storage. New work will include roofing and insulation, new interior partitions, doors, lighting, finishes, HVAC, sprinkler system modifications, electrical, telecom, and security. To qualify, the contractor must have a general contractor's license in the State of North Carolina as well as meet applicable bonding requirements. The contractor must show comparable work experience, both in complexity and dollar value, and preferably in a University campus environment, to the scope of work outlined above. NC State University has an affirmative policy of fostering, promoting, and conducting business with women and minority owned enterprises. Women and minority contractors are encouraged to participate in the prequalification process.

To be considered, the contractor must obtain an application package from the NC State University Project Manager and submit a sealed, fully completed qualification document by 5:00 pm, September 5, 2013, to Bill Davis, project manager, at Administrative Services Building III, 2701 Sullivan Dr., Suite 331, NCSU, Campus Box 7520, Raleigh, NC 27695-7520.
