The Library Phase 3 project will include but is not limited
to many improvements to the new 76,000 GSF Library and
adjacent streetscapes. Some of the improvements include
modifications to upper plaza, service road improvements,
storm water management, installation of additional security
cameras, installation of interior windows and doors, new
seating in the Cafe, renovation of Cafe kitchen for full
food preparation, improve 4th floor catering prep room to
kitchen standards, modifications to multi-purpose space, new
seating in auditorium, enhancements to lobby, modification
to building sign, new furnishings, installation of video
conferencing for conference room, addition of lighting
controls. The total project budget is approximately one
million eight hundred thousand dollars ($1.8 million). This
budget includes design, construction, fixtures, furnishings
and equipment. The design team, under the leadership of an
architectural firm, will include MEP engineers, structural
engineer, civil engineer, landscape architect, interior
designer and acoustician.
Interested firms should submit four (4) copies of your
letter of interest and four (4) copies of your current SF
330 to the address below by 5:00 PM on July 12, 2016.
Each copy should be bound and not exceed fifteen (15) 8-1/2
x 11 inch sheets plus the SF-330 form. Interested designers
must be properly licensed to practice in the State of North
Carolina.
In accordance with our qualifications-based selection
system, designers are expected to make no contact with our
University staff, faculty or trustees at this stage of the
