Pre-proposal meeting or Project Walk Through: 12/3/2015 Please contact Project Manager for additional proposal information Kenan Laboratory was built in 1968 and is a ten story, 140,410 sf teaching laboratory facility for the Chemistry department. This project will address the fire safety needs for this building in order to meet the current NFPA fire protection requirements. The project funds will provide for the installation of a new wet pipe fire sprinkler system for floors 3-9 and the basement. The ground, first and second floors had fire sprinklers were installed under a previous project. The water service is properly sized for this new project. Asbestos will be abated prior to sprinkler installation to accommodate the project.
