Loving, the Construction Manager, will receive Sealed Bids from Prequalified 1st Tier Contractors on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at UNC Pembroke in the Pinchbeck Maintenance Building A, located at 128 Facilities Drive, Pembroke, NC 28372 and immediately thereafter publicly open and read for the furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment. A virtual bid opening will be held at 2:00 PM via Zoom following the close of the bid deadline. If necessary, a rebid will be scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at UNC Pembroke in the Pinchbeck Maintenance Building A, located at 128 Facilities Drive, Pembroke, NC 28372. Metcon/T.A. Loving and Owner reserve the right to add prequalified bidders. The Construction Manager and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all bids. Request for Information (RFI) Questions are due Monday, April 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM. RFI Questions regarding the bid should be in writing and emailed to Gene Deese, at gdeese@metconus.com. Questions submitted after the noted RFI deadline may not be answered. Note: The Bidder Shall include with the proposal the form, Identification of Minority Business Participation, identifying the minority business participation it will use on the project and shall include either Affidavit A or Affidavit B as applicable. Forms and instructions are included within the Proposal Form in the bid documents. Failure to complete these forms is grounds for rejection of the bid. (GS143-128.2c) Project Description: The new UNCP Health Science Center will feature a 3-story, 75,000-square-foot building. The structure will include a steel framing system, augmented with concrete/metal deck floor slabs for the elevated floors and a slab-on-grade first floor. The facility's interiors will consist of classrooms, labs, and study spaces on the first two levels, with the Optometry and Occupational Therapy Clinics on the first floor. The partial third floor will house the administration office spaces for the building. A food service component will also be located on the first floor with a multifunction dining hall space that can double as a large lecture room. The exterior of the building will incorporate a mixture of masonry brick veneer, GFRC, precast, curtainwall/storefront glazing, and metal panels.
