County Connections Fact Sheets
The University of North Carolina System is committed to its mission of instruction, research, and public service across all 100 counties of the state, impacting economies and communities from the mountains to the coast. This interactive map of 100 counties provides a snapshot of how our 16 universities contribute to both urban and rural parts of the state. Fact sheet information includes number of resident undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in UNC System institutions, number of UNC System employees residing in each county, and total dollars in economic impact made through N.C. Cooperative Extension, an agricultural research partnership between N.C. State University and N.C. A&T State University. Click any county on the interactive map to learn more about the System’s footprint in your part of the state.
