CHAPEL HILL, NC – The University of North Carolina System announces that four System institutions are the recipients of reoccurring grants from the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program/Transforming Principal Preparation Program (NCPFP/TP3). The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, N.C. State University, East Carolina University and the Central Carolina Regional Education Service-through its affiliate member North Carolina Central University School of Education-will receive principal preparation grants for $750,000 per year for the next five years, starting in 2020.
The University of North Carolina System has named five students as 2020 Marian Drane Graham Scholars. The scholars will participate in an eight-week immersive and experiential summer program, designed to help them develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of key issues facing public higher education.

The UNC System has released annual updates to each constituent university’s Strategic Plan Dashboard. The new data, available on the UNC System website, demonstrates that the UNC System is on a steady track to attain its five-year Strategic Plan goals, with student success far exceeding the national average.
I expect to reopen our campuses for the Fall 2020 Semester and look forward to welcoming our faculty and students back to their classrooms and labs this fall. To do so, we are working closely with our chancellors to chart a course forward.

CHAPEL HILL, NC – The UNC Board of Governors voted to honor two UNC System faculty members with the 2019 Governor James E. Holshouser, Jr. Award for Excellence in Public Service. The recipients are Dr. Mark I. West from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Dr. Martin Posey from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
