UNC System announces presidential scholars for 2021-22 academic year

University of North Carolina System President Peter Hans announced today that three recent graduates of UNC System institutions will serve as Presidential Scholars for the 2021-22 academic year. As part of an annual program, Presidential Scholars serve a one-year appointment and provide a wide range of professional functions for the UNC System Office.

New Agreement Offers Eligible Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Students Guaranteed Admission to UNC Charlotte

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College officially launched a guaranteed admission partnership with UNC Charlotte at a recent meeting of the college’s Board of Trustees. Representatives from both institutions were on hand to formally sign an agreement for the 49erNext program, which provides guaranteed admission for eligible Rowan-Cabarrus students who transfer to UNC Charlotte to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

NC Teaching Fellows Program adds three new partner institutions

The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Commission has selected Fayetteville State University, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and University of North Carolina at Pembroke to serve as additional partner institutions for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program.

Six students named 2021 Marian Drane Graham Scholars

The University of North Carolina System has named six students as 2021 Marian Drane Graham Scholars. The scholars will participate in an eight-week immersive and experiential summer program, designed to help the students develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of key issues facing public higher education.
