NC Governor’s HBCU Internship Program

The North Carolina Governor’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Internship Program, which began in 2015, was created to connect students matriculating at North Carolina’s HBCUs with major corporations and businesses in the private sector throughout the state.

The program provides interns with an immersive professional experience that will increase their competitiveness in the job market. In turn, corporations and businesses are directly exposed to a diverse pool of high performing students with the ultimate goal of recruiting and retaining valuable talent within North Carolina. Studies show that seven out of 10 internships turn into full-time jobs.

The summer internships are paid, full-time positions for rising juniors and seniors who possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, are active in student organizations, and have the ability to communicate well. Opportunities are open to all majors.

The NC Governors HBCU Internship Program application for the 2024 Summer Internship Opportunity is now open. Please contact the career service office on each participating campus using the links below for more information.
