UNC System Implements Standardized AP Credit Policy

The University of North Carolina System has a new System-wide Advanced Placement (AP) credit policy, effective today. Under the new policy, the 16 universities in the System must grant credit to students who have earned a score a “three” or higher on AP exams, except in cases when a course has been granted an exception by an institution’s board of trustees.

UNC System Releases Update on Vidant Lawsuit

The UNC System initiated legal action to enforce the terms of the long-standing affiliation agreement and to protect the Brody School of Medicine. Since the court entered the temporary restraining order, the parties have agreed to mediation, which the UNC System views as the best way to resolve the concerns of all parties and to provide a stable platform for medical education and healthcare in Eastern North Carolina.

UNC System Names 2019 Marian Drane Graham Scholars

The University of North Carolina System has named five students as 2019 Marian Drane Graham Scholars. The scholars will participate in an eight-week immersive and experiential summer program, designed to help the students develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of key issues facing public higher education.

Court Grants Temporary Restraining Order to ECU and UNC System

We appreciate that the court determined that the UNC System and East Carolina University have shown a likelihood of success on the merits of our claims and that the Brody School of Medicine is likely to sustain irreparable harm unless a temporary restraining order is in place.
