Admissions

UNC Asheville seeks students who want a hands-on, inspiring, and personalized education. Prospective students and families can experience campus during visits and open house opportunities throughout the year, including daily tours, Discovery Days in the fall, and Junior Preview Days in the spring. Admission Counselors, who are dedicated to serving specific regions of NC, out-of-state students, and transfer students, provide individualized support to students as they explore what UNC Asheville can offer and navigate the application and financial aid process.

Academics

Students can choose from more than 30 majors in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. The most popular majors include environmental studies, psychology, management/accountancy, biology, and engineering/mechatronics, and students are encouraged to design their own course of study to address new, complex problems. The Liberal Arts Core curriculum introduces students to a range of subjects and ideas and challenges them to look at life from many perspectives, ask important questions, and think creatively.

Athletics

UNC Asheville student-athletes compete in 16 NCAA Division I Teams in the Big South Conference. Student-athletes perform on the court, the field, the pool, and in the classroom, as they consistently earn above a grade-point average of 3.0 each year. They also contribute meaningfully to their communities while they make career connections through Leaders for Leaders, a mentoring program that pairs students with community members. Go, Bulldogs!
