Ms. Rich maintains the appointment calendar for the Vice President for Research and assists with scheduling meetings and coordinating meeting materials, audio/visual presentations, location, travel, and budget. She also manages listservs and contact information for Chief Research Officers, SPARC contacts, and technology transfer officers.
Dr. Baines directs the UNC Historically Minority Institution Research Initiative, a project run collaboratively between Research and Federal Relations. He will develop and implement the program to increase the number of collaborative research and mentorship initiatives between our institutions, promote professional development for new and mid-level professors with an interest in research, enhance relationships with funding agency program managers, and expand research opportunities for students across disciplines. Dr. Baines is an Associate Professor of Biology and the Cancer Research Program at North Carolina Central University and an Adjunct Associate Professor in Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Ms. Bhakta serves as the applications programmer for electronic sponsored research administration tools, including RAMSeS. Sweta consults with campus users, provides technical support, and develops and implements technical solutions.
Dr. Cazier works with the University Innovation Council and related projects to help create and support a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by helping to improve the technology commercialization process across the UNC system. Dr. Cazier is also the Dean’s Club Professor of Computer Information Systems and the Director of the Center for Analytics Research and Education at Appalachian State University where he focuses on the use of Big Data and Analytics to solve meaningful real world problems. Additionally Dr. Cazier has a background in science as a researcher for a large biotechnology company, a technologist with degrees and work experience in information systems, an entrepreneur as a substantial participant with several start ups, and as a university administrator.

Mr. Hurley serves as the Environmental Health and Safety Director at the North Carolina Research Campus located in Kannapolis, N.C. In this role, he coordinates Environmental Health and Safety activities with Campus Partners ensuring a consistent level of guidance, implementation and compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations concerning Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental and Emergency Management. He provides a campus interface with Home campuses, public safety and regulatory agencies for Environmental, Health and Safety concerns.
Ms. Jones serves as the accountant and reports to the Director of Sponsored Programs. Assists with proposal development and review, subrecipient management (establishment and monitoring), transaction testing for administrative and financial compliance, review of high risk transactions prior to posting, budget monitoring, accounts receivable and F&A calculations processes, training and review/update of processes and procedures regarding sponsored programs.

Sponsored Programs is responsible for all facets of pre- and post-award administration for contracts and grants awarded to UNC-General Administration, including proposal and budget development, award negotiations, regulatory compliance, post-award functions and financial compliance, and is primary liaison between UNC program directors and sponsors. Ms. Smith serves as the contract and grant process advisory lead for the UNC Business Process Compliance Program and also leads the UNC Sponsored Programs and Research Council providing a venue for policy and emerging trend discussions and content area training.
Mr. Todd serves as the Executive Director at the North Carolina Research Campus located in Kannapolis, N.C. In this role, he coordinates diverse campus partners, plans strategically to identify and address critical campus priorities, and works to achieve outlined objectives by driving strategic plans forward. Mr. Todd also provides management, budgeting and facilities leadership to support UNC Campus partners.
Ms. Wallace directs implementation and usage of web-based sponsored research administration tools at UNC's sixteen universities. Supports development of responses to requests for information on UNC sponsored research and related data.
