On Thursday, May 22, in Washington D.C., the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, & Pensions held a hearing entitled, “Examining Access and Supports for Servicemembers and Veterans in Higher Education.”  Kimrey Rhinehardt, vice president for federal relations of the 17-campus University of North Carolina, was one of five individuals invited to testify before the committee. 

UNC campuses have made outreach to and support of military-affiliated students a high priority.  North Carolina has six major military installations and is also home to 800,000 veterans.  Rhinehardt discussed UNC’s progress and demonstrated best practices in serving our growing student veteran population.
