On March 21, fourth-year medical students from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and East Carolina University participated in the annual Match Day ceremony, learning where they will spend the next three to seven years as doctors-in-training. Students were matched into residency training programs covering various specialties at medical centers in North Carolina and across the country.

The annual ceremony is a rite of passage for U.S. medical school students and other applicants.
