Project Description | One-Two Sentences The electrical system, upstream of the main switchgear, was
recently replaced. The scope of this project is to
completely replace and modernize the electrical system,
downstream of the switchgear.
Opened in 1892, Foust is on the national register of
historic places and is built of stone, masonry, timber
beams, wood joists, plaster and lathe. Numerous partial
renovations have provided a mix of more modern partitions
and wall surfaces. Internal electrical system is a mixture
of very old and somewhat newer circuit panels, wire types
and wiring pathways.
The historic nature of Foust is expected be fully honored in
the design of electrical work details and installation
instructions. Challenges will include a carefully planned
phasing of construction sequences that accommodates
occupancy during construction, multiple diverse academic and
administrative departments and some classroom spaces.
Designer will be expected to follow any state required
regulations, processes and submissions necessary for a
historically registered building. | |||||
