| Project Description | | One-Two Sentences
This project consists of the demolition and replacement of
the existing condensate return system on Main campus at East
Carolina University. The specific area is the condensate
main that extends from manhole MC-8, West of Joyner Library
to manhole MC-2, East of Slay Hall.
The condensate main has failed in multiple locations such
that the condensate is not being recovered or returned to
the steam plant. The goals for the project include:
-The new pre-insulated condensate piping system will be a
direct buried, Class A conduit style system and consist of
carbon steel carrier pipe with Pyrogel XT insulation, outer
steel pressure testable conduit followed by foam thermal
insulation protected by a water-tight HDPE outer jacket.
-The steam service to existing facilities shall be
maintained while replacement takes place. Temporary lines
may be required along with additional valve to facilitate
new line installation.
-Existing steam manhole modification to be statically
ventilated with electrically
driven sump pumps.
Interested firms should submit four (4) copies of your
