East Carolina University (ECU) is seeking the services of a
qualified design firm for a project to renovate the current
Mendenhall Student Center facility. The project involves
construction required to bring this facility into compliance
with current life safety and building codes as well as
correct all deferred maintenance. Additionally, the
university catering kitchen, bowling alley, theatre, radio
studio, and a critical university IT Hub are located within
Mendenhall and must be kept fully operational during the
project.
The selected firm will prepare a detailed scope of work and
associated cost estimate that will be used to establish a
roadmap for Mendenhall renovation over time as funding
becomes available. Current project authority is for advance
planning only. The firm selected may be retained for full
design, bidding and construction administration services at
East Carolina University's sole discretion.
In accordance with our qualifications-based selection
system, designers are expected to make no contact with
University staff, faculty or trustees at this stage of the
selection process. All questions should be directed to the
attention of the Facilities Engineering & Architectural
Services office. East Carolina University encourages
