 Project Description One-Two Sentences
Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina is seeking qualification packages from an Architectural firm / Engineering Firm partnership to provide design and construction services for restroom renovations in Peacock Hall and Rankin Science West. The Peacock Hall portion will completely renovate, modernize, and bring up to current codes all restrooms in Peacock Hall, eight multi-stall and two single restrooms. Piping and fixtures are original construction from the late 1980's and will need to be evaluated. All building systems in the renovated area will need to be addressed and brought up to current code. This project will also renovate four housekeeping closets to make them more functional with current industry standard cleaning equipment and techniques. The Rankin Science West portion will renovate the restrooms on the first floor of Rankin Science West. The floor system under this section of the building is settling and causing wall systems to fail. Both structural and cosmetic issues will need to be addressed in this renovation. Once structural concerns are evaluated and addressed, the restrooms will be renovated and brought up to current code. These restrooms are original to the building which was constructed in the late 1960's. The designer shall provide professional services for the project in accordance with the terms and conditions of the design agreement and the latest edition of the document titled North Carolina State Construction Manual, which by reference is made a part of the agreement. To be considered, a NC licensed Architect / Engineering must submit a qualification package to the Planning, Design and Construction Office, Appalachian State University, 438 Academy Street, Boone, NC 28608-2050; Attn: Neal Castle Winebarger, (828) 262-6623 by 2 PM Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Shortlist candidates will be notified by July 6, 2017. Interviews will be conducted on July 17, 2017.
