Project Description | One-Two Sentences Western Carolina University is soliciting qualifications for
professional Architectural/Engineering (A/E) design services
for Advance Planning a multi-phased design for replacing the
existing Scott and Walker Residence Halls. The first phase
will consist of the new 400 bed residence hall located on
the lower Main Campus in Cullowhee, North Carolina. The
project will consist of the construction of approximately
120,000 square foot multi-storied building. The project will
be phased to allow for the existing residents in Scott and
Walker to remain until they are relocated to Phase I of the
new building. After existing residents are relocated to
Phase I, Scott and Walker will be demolished for the
construction of Phase II/III (parking and site amenities).
It is expected that construction of Phase 1 will be
completed by June 2020.
Current project authorization is for advance planning only.
The selected firm may be retained through full design and
construction at the University's option.
There will be a pre-submittal conference for any interested
parties held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in
