Western Carolina University (WCU) is soliciting
qualifications for Construction Manager-at-Risk for
preconstruction services for the new 756 bed residence hall
located on Lower Main Campus in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
The project will consist of the construction of three
structures equaling a total of approximately 210,000 square
foot to replace the Scott and Walker Residence Halls
constructed in 1967/68. The project will be phased to allow
for the demolition of Scott and Walker (9 story high rises),
relocation of site utilities, and construction of the
planned buildings. It is expected that construction will
start in the spring of 2020 with the abatement and
demolition phase with the completion of construction spring
of 2022.
