Woodward, chancellor &lt;i&gt;emeritus&lt;/i&gt; of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, has been named chancellor on an interim basis of North Carolina State University.&amp;nbsp; Woodward, who started work at NC State on June 9, was appointed by UNC President Erskine Bowles following the resignation of Chancellor James L. Cook, associate professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, received the Award for Excellence in Public Service today from the Board of Governors of the multi-campus University of North Carolina.&amp;nbsp;The award, announced during the Board&amp;rsquo;s regular October meeting, was established in 2007 to encourage, identify, recognize, and reward distinguished public service and outreach by faculty across the University.&lt;/p&gt;</description><pubDate>Fri, 09 Oct 2009 00:00:00 EDT</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
