UNC campuses are finding creative ways to "teach" entrepreneurship and innovation to campus-based students and lifelong students, preparing them for a world where they will be challenged to invent new things and think in new ways more than ever. Following are some examples of how they are doing that:
UNC-Chapel Hill
Carolina Entrepreneurial Initiative (CEI)
UNC-Chapel Hill has worked to successfully expand entrepreneurship beyond the business school and across campus into the College of Arts and Sciences and professional schools.
UNC Wilmington
Business of Marine Biotechnology Program
UNC Wilmington is working to identify well trained scientists who have new marine biotechnology ideas and teach them how to translate research into business opportunities.
North Carolina State University
HomegrownHandmade.com Agri-Cultural Tourism Trails
Based on the success of HandMade in America's visitor guidebook, Craft Heritage Trails of North Carolina, several driving routes have been created in Eastern North Carolina and the Piedmont to encourage tourists to visit farms, studios and other sites off the beaten path.
