More than 1 million student service hours have propelled UNC onto a list of six schools named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

The award, sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency leading President Barack Obama's call to service through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve programs, recognizes universities for their community service activities.
