For Elizabeth City State University, the concept of going green isn’t exactly new. So when Majora Carter, host of the television series, “The Green” stood behind a familiar podium in ECSU’s K.E. White Center, she knew she’d have to do more than preach to the choir.
Unlike her previous speeches in the region, the focus of Carter’s address during Monday’s Green Economy Forum was on the steps that northeastern North Carolina must take to prepare for the transition into a green economy. According to Carter, the region has the potential to be at the forefront of something big.
