ECU Helps Teachers Prepare Students for STEM Studies

Too often, high school students don’t understand how the concepts they learn in the classroom apply to real-life situations. Eastern North Carolina math and science teachers are changing that with the help of the TechMath program at East Carolina University.

Now in its third year, TechMath helps public school teachers prepare lesson plans that focus on business-related science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, skills. The program is funded by a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation.
