Susan Harden is the recipient of the 2009 Civic Engagement Professional of the Year Award. Harden, coordinator for UNC Charlotte’s Crossroads Charlotte initiative, recently received the award from Campus Compact during a special ceremony held on campus. Crossroads Charlotte is a broad-based effort to address the challenges of race, class and privilege in Charlotte. More than 50 area governmental, corporate, nonprofit, faith-based and educational institutions are active Crossroads partners.
