BOG Strategic Direction #5. "Internationalization: Promote an internal perspective throughout the University community to prepare citizens to become leaders in a multi-ethnic and global society."
UNC supports the expansion of student participation in international study and internships, and it welcomes a growing number of international students and scholars to its North Carolina campuses. Technology plays a pivotal role in making academic programs and research initiatives available across national boundaries and in promoting the exhange of knowledge and ideas. The Division of Information Resources provides support for the University's internationalization efforts.
