The Data Systems Improvement Initiatives seek to improve data integrity through development of data management standards and processes to promote data quality as well as implement projects to centralize certain back office financial operations. Data integrity is critical given the integrated nature of the Banner ERP systems in place at 15 of the system campuses.
The Human Resources/Payroll project was launched to implement the Banner HR/Payroll module in a standard model across the nine campuses that previously used the State of North Carolina Central Payroll. These nine campuses transitioned to a Shared Services Center at General Administration for their back office payroll processing.
It is anticipated that future projects will take advantage of the shared services framework for other financial operations as resources become available.
