NC State Engineer to Receive Army Award for Research Countering Roadside Bombs

A North Carolina State University engineer has received the U.S. Army Commander’s Award for Public Service for research that has helped American forces remotely counter roadside bombs, efforts that have saved hundreds of soldiers’ lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Dr. Michael Steer, Lampe Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NC State, was honored for his work at a ceremony on March 11 on NC State’s Centennial Campus.
