Dr. William Randolph “Randy” Woodson, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at Purdue University, has been named chancellor of North Carolina State University. The appointment was announced by University of North Carolina President Erskine Bowles in Chapel Hill today (Jan. 8), following approval by the UNC Board of Governors. Woodson succeeds Dr. James Woodward, who has served as chancellor on an interim basis since Dr. James L. Oblinger resigned in June.
