In 2009, ECSU received $252,045 in additional funds for Dr. Cheryl Lewis, principle investigator/director for the TRIO programs, and staff to continue the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at ECSU. It's the 15th year the program has been offered at ECSU. This program prepares participants for doctoral programs through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. A major goal is to increase the number of students choosing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) majors and the number of students earning doctorate degrees.
