The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill remains the number one overall best value in U.S. public higher education, according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. Carolina has ranked first on the magazine’s list of schools that “deliver strong academics at affordable prices” since 1998 when Kiplinger’s began its analysis. The newest list appears in the February issue, which hits newsstands Tuesday, Jan. 5. Kiplinger’s editors say their top 100 public campuses offer the nation’s best combination of academics and affordability.
