The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ranks fifth among the nation’s best public universities for the ninth consecutive year in the latest U.S. News & World Report magazine list. UC-Berkeley ranked first among public universities, followed by UCLA and Virginia (tied for second), Michigan (fourth) and Carolina (fifth). Among public and private national universities, UNC ranked 28th, tied with Tufts and Wake Forest universities.
