The University of North Carolina at Pembroke remains a national leader for American Indian graduates, according to a recent study by Diverse magazine. UNCP ranked ninth overall among all U.S. colleges and universities with 132 American Indian graduates for 2007-08. UNCP led all Eastern U.S. higher education institutions. The University is number one in the nation for the second year in a row for turning out physical science majors and number four in biology/biomedical sciences.
