Rates of diabetes are significantly higher than expected among children and adolescents from five ethnic and racial groups in the United States, according to new findings by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and others. The results are outlined in a series of papers in a supplement to the March issue of the journal Diabetes Care, which reports the results of the SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth study.
