Time and effort reporting is a critical aspect of administrative compliance for contracts and grants. UNC-GA is required to maintain an auditable system for tracking time and effort contributed to externally sponsored activities. Time and effort contributed in whole or in part to externally sponsored projects is considered cost sharing. See Statement 4.8 for an expanded discussion of cost sharing. All UNC-GA employees paid directly from contracts and grants are subject to the reporting requirements described in Procedure 4.8.1.  All UNC-GA employees who contribute effort toward a contract and grant-funded activity as part of a sponsor required match or cost share are also subject to the repporting requirements described in Procedure 4.8.1.
