Whereas the effective use of technology in teaching and learning can enable improved student learning, instructional opportunities, and University-wide efficiency, and
 
Whereas strategic faculty development is critical to the effective use of technology in teaching and learning, and
 
Whereas the University of North Carolina Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative is a consortial organization collaboratively providing faculty and staff development opportunities, vision, and shared resources in support of teaching and learning with technology programs and initiatives on the 16 UNC campuses, and
 
Whereas the University of North Carolina Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative’s commitment to students is exemplified by its learning-centered focus on improvement in student learning through collaborative TLT professional development and reports of ongoing research involving student learning, and
 
Whereas the University of North Carolina Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative is a strong example of the synergy created through leveraging aspects of TLT resources available throughout the University of best provide professional development promoting the effective use of technology, and
 
Whereas the University of North Carolina Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative serves the University by enabling campuses to do more together through facilitating knowledge sharing and resource building across all 16 campuses by activities such as the annual UNC TLT Conference, the Professional Development Portal, the University’s nine TLT Interest Groups, and the publishing of online compendia of training materials and effective TLT practices, and
 
Where as the University of North Carolina Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative has been nationally recognized through its current nomination for the TIAA-CREF Hesburgh Award for exceptional faculty development programs designed to enhance undergraduate teaching and learning;
 
Now, therefore be it resolved that the University of North Carolina Faculty Assembly fully endorses the continued funding and support of the UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative in its mission to further the effective use of technology in teaching and learning
