WHEREAS Jeff Passe has served faithfully and energetically as chair of the UNC Faculty Assembly for two consecutive years, and

WHEREAS he helped institute the HMI caucus

WHEREAS he set up a pool of experts in faculty governance to provide guidance to campuses requesting assistance in faculty governance issues

 

WHEREAS he increased awareness of faculty government issues and expertise through the workshop on Shared Governance last spring;

 

WHEREAS he has urged faculty delegates to become increasingly engaged in UNC governance through awareness of and participation in The Board of Governors meetings

 

WHEREAS he facilitated communication among the Faculty Assembly delegates both at and between meetings

 

Be it resolved that the Faculty Assembly recognize and thank our colleague, Jeff Passe, for his dedication and exemplary leadership on behalf of all faculty of the University of North Carolina.
