Resolution 96-14
UNC Faculty Assembly
February 21, 1997
RESOLUTION ON THE REPORT OF THE POST-TENURE REVIEW COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Mechanisms for continuing evaluation of tenured faculty currently exist consistent with Administrative Memorandum 338 and the section "Evaluation of Faculty" in Draft 5 of "A Report of the University of North Carolina Committee to Study Post-Tenure Review"; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Faculty Assembly remains unconvinced of the need for an additional post tenure review process. However, if such a process is to be implemented, we are generally supportive of the principles in the Executive Summary of Draft 5 of "A Report of the University of North Carolina Committee to Study Post-Tenure Review" with the changes suggested by the Faculty Senate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, on the condition that any new policies and procedures for review be developed on each campus with significant faculty involvement.
