RESOLUTION CONCERNING FACULTY AND STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN THE SEARCH PROCESS FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA

WHEREAS, The Faculty Assembly wishes to express it appreciation to the Board of Governors for the opportunity presented to faculty representatives and the student representative to participate as members of the Presidential Leadership Statement Committee; and

WHEREAS, This faculty and student participation has given both constituencies an important voice in this presidential selection process, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the Faculty Assembly encourage the Board of Governors to provide opportunities to representatives of the Faculty Assembly and to representatives of the Association of Student Governments to:

(1) Meet confidentially with the final candidates for President of the University of North Carolina;

(2) Provide confidential comments regarding those final candidates to the Presidential Search Committee of the Board of Governors.
