RESOLUTION ON FACULTY REWARDS AND SALARIES

WHEREAS, Chapter 324 of the 1995 Session Laws directs that the University of North Carolina establish teaching as a primary consideration in rewarding faculty, and

WHEREAS, Chapter 507 of the 1995 Session Laws specifies that research and public service enhance teaching and learning,

WHEREAS, the N.C. Legislature appropriated specific funds in the fiscal year 1994-95 to recognize excellence in faculty teaching, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that in keeping with previous legislative priorities, the Faculty Assembly of the University of North Carolina urge President Broad to work with the North Carolina Legislature and the public to gain support for more substantial salary rewards for teaching for the Faculty of the University of North Carolina System
