RESOLUTION SEEKING INFORMATION ON THE STATUS OF TEACHING CENTERS
WHEREAS, the UNC Board of Governors mandated the strengthening of existing Teaching Centers and the establishment of Teaching Centers at UNC Institutions not already having them; and
WHEREAS, a rapidly evolving techno-educational environment and demographic pressures dictate a critical need for UNC Institutions to provide the resources for faculty profession development; and
WHEREAS, an investment in faculty development returns to the University of North Carolina and to the state of North Carolina enhanced faculty value and increased productivity; and
WHEREAS, the UNC Faculty Assembly seeks to monitor continually the strength and effectiveness of UNC Teaching Centers; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the UNC Faculty Assembly requests of President Spangler that he inquire of the Chancellors the status of institutional Teaching Centers, including information of funding, space allocations, and support staffs.
