RESOLUTION ON ELIMINATION OF THE REQUIRED 2% REVERSION FOR FLEXIBILITY

WHEREAS, Each of the 16 campuses of The University of North Carolina has been designated as a special responsibility constituent institution; and

WHEREAS, The administration at each of the 16 constituent institutions has demonstrated responsible use of budget flexibility, and

WHEREAS, All of the 16 constituent institutions have multiple unmet educational needs, such as in the areas of educational technology, student financial aid, and deferred maintenance; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the UNC Faculty Assembly ask President Spangler and the Board of Governors to request as a priority to the General Assembly the elimination of the required annual reversion of two percent (2%) of the General Fund current operation appropriation by each special responsibility constituent institution.
