Whereas, Mike Pearson served on the Faculty Assembly for six years, including service as Vice-Chair, and Chair of the Faculty Development Committee; and

Whereas, Mike Pearson was a leader in directing at attention of the University to the core value of teaching excellence; and

Whereas, Mike Pearson was a consistent voice calling for accountability at every level of the University; and

Whereas, shortly after being elected to a new term on the Faculty Assembly, Mike Pearson passed away; therefore,

Be it resolved that the Faculty Assembly honors the memory of Mike Pearson and his contributions to faculty governance in North Carolina.
